This resonates on several levels. As a grandnmother of a 5, 4 yr old, 8-month, and 10-day old, I am experiencing a different perspective from when I was a mother of three under three years old. Also, I was talking to my physician about how serious I am about what I put in my body and she asked why, and I told her that the human body is a miraculous gift and I see so many people abusing it and I feel it is disrespectful, so I try to honour this gift. It's not about looking like what society says I should as a women, it's that how I look is a byproduct of respecting the gift of the human body, the one vehicle I was given to experience this amazing Earth. Body luxury is all about that. The overthinking has been crippling at so many stages especially with art forms for me. But I know it comes from having to get it right, perfect, which comes from self worth as a little girl and not mattering enough, so endlessly revisiting things to get it right the next time. It's exhausting. I too, am trying just to write, paint, etc. without thinking. Julia Cameron's "Morning Pages" have been so very helpful in this way, hugely because I place no expectations on these raw morning brain dumps. Many poems emerge from them, and I feel so unblocked, it is heavenly not to feel mired in thought.

I enjoyed listening to you this morning PK during my devotion time and over a frothy latte! I loved the part you said about not underestimating things because they don’t seem as serious. As a clinical psychologist, I’m big on nourishing the happy child mode in all of us - regardless of age! Loved the bible verse too x

Thank you Peta. Not just another podcast. You sharing your life experience is certainly life giving for me as a woman, a mother, sitting on the beach, taking some time to breathe.

I too have degree in exercise science, then NW biz in wellness, now epigenetics health coaching (on mat leave), long time wellness guru, owner of a cafe with my husband and walking a faith journey - so can I say how refreshing and resonate it is to hear your words. Excited for this further conversation xx
