Hey you,
Question: Why do people get addicted to tattoos?
It’s definitely not the scratchy pain for most people or the smell of bepanthen (that's the cream you rub on afterwards for a refresher). Getting tattoos becomes addictive because it’s a form of expression.
Expression. Expression is what we (and you) yearn for.
Lights flicker on inside you, when you tell the story of your soul through your art.
You know how good it feels when you wear the clothes you like the MOST…. The ones that for some reason, visually or materially excite you. You walk differently, you move through life differently, life responds to you differently as if to say ‘AH HUH! There you are.’
I don't know about you, but I even eat differently when I wear clothes that feel like an expression, not just a function. It’s a neural feedback loop.
Your energy changes when you are expressing what is TRUE inside of you. Whether it's your clothing, the beautiful mugs you drink from, the way you arrange your room so it pleases you when you walk by it, the way your instagram grid feels like your fun living diary and not like you're competing in a competition for the most articulate spiritual service providers (I know you know)... the way you design your offerings in zippy ways that don't fit into the regular 'one call a week' structure.
Your energy changes when you express yourself because expression relieves and releases energy. It’s quite literally, like confetti.
This energetic feedback inside of you is confirmation that expression and art heal— not only yourself but those in your family/community/field.
Who and what would we be if nobody made art?
Who and what would we be if nobody made fresh, abstract, wild shit that makes no sense to our brain but MOVES everything inside us around so that we’re in harmony with all of creation again?
Art does that. Your creations are expressions of all of creation… so long as you let then out in their purity, no matter how abstract, unique or yep... fkng FUN they are.
Gosh, how much more fun could it be? What if it being more fun, added a supercharge to everything you make? What if the way you frothed out on it, made it go that much further and with so much more precision towards who it's meant for?
Instagram started off as a platform for artists, and then it changed to a platform for service providers.
Did this change us?
I wonder, if this evolved us from ‘this is who I am and here is JUST A PICTURE NO WORDS YEOW!’ To ‘Here is what I do and let me scroll my camera roll to find a picture to match my description.’
No matter what you do, you have a unique creative signature which is a special key to your own life force. This, when ON, gives life to everything else that's important to you.
It can be fun, life giving and sacred again.
