In celebration of International Women’s Day.
It has taken me most of my 34 years on this planet to be able to side with the ideals of traditional womanhood. I’m not a trad wife. I don’t bake my own sourdough regularly. I don’t preserve cucumbers and make fancy pickles. I write every afternoon after my husband gets home and before I cook dinner. We travel the world, living unconventionally but still together. When I say ‘traditional womanhood’, I don’t mean that my life resembles something of a 1950’s homestead. I mean that God has sprayed away all of the desires that were causing me internal conflict. He has simplified my direction.
Many women fall into the same category as me:
The stay at home/create from home mum.
I’m with my kids. They’re with me.
Also, I have some space to create.
The sweet spot, when it’s all going smoothly of course.
Many people have asked me questions about my motherhood/creativity flow. I get to it in this entry.
