A simple day in the life. X
Woke early.
Read scripture and prayed.
Went for a sunrise walk with Pax, the early bird of my two kids.
A short, spicy Pilates sesh while
the kids played.
Dad left for work,
we went out for our morning adventure
Playgroup this morning.
Love it there, the mums are funny,
like me.
Came home, made lunch.
Changed the bed sheets.
Prepared dinner.
Vacuumed and swept.
Folded laundry.
Put laundry on.
Hung laundry out.
Tidied bedrooms.
Kids are out at an afternoon activity with Dad.
It’s a Wednesday thing.
Now, I write.
Soon, I’ll sauna.
Then, I’ll cook.
Then, I’ll wash up.
Then, twilight trampoline bounce
that I’ll just watch because…
they were 10 pounds each.
Kids shout out to the Neighbors
‘Wanna play?’
Then bath.
Stories.
More stories.
Stories til I’m slurring.
When they’re finally asleep,
I’ll read or reply to texts,
do something ‘errandy’ on the laptop,
and connect with my husband
either for a little or for long…
We’re doing so much better at
making sure we do
and then I’ll go to bed.
A podcast? An audiobook?
Or my regular inner melody
of me just thinking about all the ways I can be a better mum and wife tomorrow.
Wouldn’t change a thing.
